Basketball

Welcome Primary 2 students!  We ask Dwayne and Jeramiah, our Primary 6 school basketball team players 3 questions you might be interested to know!

Why Did You Join Basketball CCA?

Dwayne: I always have an interest for it. My parents used to watch basketball on TV. The dazzling moves and incredible team play sequence inspired me to become a basketball player.

Jeremiah: During recess, my classmates and I loved playing basketball together to pass time. I wanted to get better at it! There is this quiet sense of satisfaction when you see the ball you shot drains the basket!

What Do You Enjoy Most About Basketball?

Dwayne: No matter if you are short, tall, fast or slow, you will always have a role.

Jeremiah: I enjoyed learning from others the most. I managed to attain more knowledge and skills by the generous sharing of the instructor, teachers and teammates. If I were to select my CCA again, it will still be basketball!

What Did You Learn In Basketball CCA?

Dwayne: From the CCA trainings and competitions, I learnt that being able to work together in a team is vital. If one person in the team is unable to cooperate, that team is likely to fail. I apply this to almost every situation requiring more than one person, such as during recess; we must all work together to ensure that the canteen and equipment in the play areas were properly cleaned.

Jeramiah: An important lesson I learnt was that no matter how a good an individual may be, they can never beat the combined efforts of others. This was especially evident during our first match of the inter-school competition. At first, we played selfishly and passing the ball only to those whom we trust to score. However it failed miserably. As the tournament progresses, we managed to work more cohesively and as a result we only lost by 3 points! It is still a lost but the experience learnt was a big WIN! Success is not built on the brilliance of one person but the result of synergy with the team members.
